The bamboo boards are smooth, and perform well. They have little non skid feet on the back to keep them from slipping around. They look great even after use. They also have a channel for liquids around them.

These boards seem solid overall, and I was happy to get them as we’re trying to reduce plastics in our kitchen. I also really like the benefits of bamboo. What’s not to like? It’s a renewable material, generally more sustainable than hardwoods, and naturally less porous, which can help resist moisture and reduce bacteria growth compared to traditional wooden boards.

That said, I did get a splinter the first day I used the larger one while washing it, and there are a few rough spots on both boards. I’ll be sanding them down myself and have already bought some board butter to help condition and seal them.

The juice grooves are a nice feature—especially helpful when prepping fruits or juicy meats—and the built-in handles make them easy to move around. To my surprise, the smaller board has actually gotten more use than I expected. It’s the perfect size for quick chopping jobs. And I’ll be using it for charcuterie and as a cheese board soon. They’re pretty. Though, I wish the brand wasn’t so “in your face”. My old boards didn’t do that.

I make sure to dry them off as soon as I’m done washing to help them last. I’m satisfied so far, but I’ll probably purchase a larger one eventually to round out my setup.

Would have been five stars if not for the splinter. I was under the impression that was something I wouldn’t have to worry about.

Bamboo is a great option for getting away from plastics. You are also seeing more metal and stone cutting boards for the same reason, but they are so hard on the knife blade. I have been using plastic for a long time, but its been determined that micro plastics get into the body from cutting boards as well. This is a nice cutting board set with two different sized boards to chose from depending on your cutting needs.

I like that this board give you full use of the cutting surface, you don't lose any space to a handle cut into one side, or some other feature built. There is a little gutter that covers the outside edge to catch any juices from spilling on the counter, a nice feature that some of my current boards are missing, which irritated me because of the mess it made. There are some hand holds carved out on the underside of the board, which make it easy to pick up off the counter. The no slip rubber feet hold the board firmly in place when cutting.

There is a little extra care required with a wood board, hand washing and dry it right away, you don't want to leave it to air dry. You also need to oil it once a month to protect the wood so it does not dry out. If you diligent with this routine the cutting boards with last a very long time. This is a really good product.
